    Hello all,
I am looking into starting to write web pages, and want to know your all's opinion on HTML editors. I do not want to use MS drag and drop editor, I want to be able to get right down to the code and write it myself, I used to be pretty good at this but has been a while and new things have emerged since then.

Any sugestions would be great, here are a few that I have heard about Macromedia HomeSite 5.5, and Ace HTML. Any one heard or used these before?

    Thanks
    George

    Notepad works just fine. :)

As Ragnarok says, Notepad will do what you want if you can write HTML. If you want something a little different try Swish. Swish is akin to Macromedia Flash but much cheaper. I have Swish2 and find it reasonably easy to use. Swishmax is a lot harder (for me at least)

    Good Luck

I used 1st Page for awhile, and it was a pretty decent html editor. It's got something for everyone, from WYSIWYG beginner stuff to expert coding.
