Huawei Wireless Modem Problem

Hi I hope I'm posting in the right place this time. Sorry I'm still learning the site. Nice features on here. Thanks for responding to my last post so quickly. Ok now to my problem. I have successfully installed Huawei wireless modem software onto this laptop and it's working fine. But on my other laptop and desktop when I go online the browser and mouse just locks or freezes and I have to reboot manually. My husband thinks it's because they put a copy of xp on them and not the original. I have heard that windows can be authenticated somehow is that true and how can I if my net freezes after 1 min. If anyone could help me I'd be so grateful.
