    Hello,
Just finished building a MSI Neo4 platinum based PC running XP SP2. Only one problem and it is an annoying one. Ran fine for a day or two then it got to "press TAB to POST or DEL to start BIOS then the keyboard is dead.
The PC will boot with a USB keyboard and (very occasionally) after booting with USB, the PS2 keyboard works
Device manager keyboard entry is HID Keyboard. I can quite haoily soldier on with USB but would prefer to use PS2.
    Your suggestions would be appreciated.
    TIA

First go into bios and disable 'USB keyboard support' or 'USB keyboard and mouse support' Then try to boot your computer with only your PS2 keyboard connected.

Next I'd check for bios updates that mention the problem you are facing, if there are no major fixes listed in the bios updates you may want to skip it.

Let me know how it goes:)

Thanks for the suggestion. I disabled USB keyboard support, rermoved the USB KB and plugged in PS2- same result as previously also tried a different PS2 keyboard and the same. Where can I find a list of BIOS update details which you mention.? Problem with the BIOS updates seems to be that I can't dowload from
one PC and run on another - The one with the KB problem is not on line.

From MSI's website, you will need your full model number and revision,if you post it here we can help you find it.

BTW It won't be a driver problem if the keyboard doesn't work at the bios and PS2 keyboards don't need drivers to work.

Saying that go to control panel, device manager are there any yellow exclamation marks next to anything WHEN the PS2 keyboard is connected?

Bios updates are automated these days but its usually possible to update the bios simply by transferring the downloaded files using a thumbdrive.
