Hughes satellite net

I have Hughes Net satellite. Bought a new Windows 7 computer yesterday. It will not let me get on the internet. Told me to buy an new ethernet cable. I did and it still does not connect me to the internet. Spent 5 hours talking to Hughes on the phone, Mostly to someone I couldn't understand. Disconnect power to the modem, taking all the connections off the modem and reconnecting. Still won't work. They are sending a new modem, but I don't think thats the problem. It worked on the old windows xp, albeit slow, but it won't work on the new windows 7. Can anyone help. I have also disabled Norton firewall and it still won't work. Oh, sometimes it will let me connect with google search page or ask.com. It even allowed me to access Lucianne.com one time. Help
