I've followed the Readme guide through step 4 for spyware removal on the other computer. It is XP home edition I was able to complete all the steps but the Symantec security check (was a problem trying to get the active x controlers but, Trends scan was clean so I'm not too worried) The only things of note were the massive amount of stuff cleaned by ccleaner and HSremove finding 8 objects to deal with. Since HSRemove found 8 objects should I continue to optional step 5? and would you be willing to look at a hijack log for excess data that should be removed that maybe causing some of this computers turtle-like qualities?

No, this is the other one I mentioned in that thread, I completed all the steps upto the 2 optional ones and was wondering if HsRemove getting 8 items after all those steps was a cue that I needed to do the two optional steps and if you would be willing to help me determine if his computer has a bunch of extra baggage that is causing conflicts or slowdowns through use of highjackthis.

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Well here is the log for the other computer. I don't use this one much peronally but looking through the hijacklist post and comparing I only spoted 4 things that I'm fairly sure I should remove, the 2 Ros for hsremove, the 4th o2 perhaps and the 3rd 04 however, I want to be safe so I have not yet. One or two of the programs at the start I have no idea what they may be.

    No big problems were found.

You can have HJT fix the below three lines:
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://hsremove.com/done.htm
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://hsremove.com/done.htm
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

Then you should Reset Your Web settings and then reassign your home page.
