    Dear Geeks,

About 3-4 weeks ago I stopped being able to access my external HDD from 'My Computer' by double-clicking on it. Instead when I double-click it, I'm prompted with the What do you wish to open this with dialogue and there is no Open Folder option. There is a 'Run the program using the program provided on the device' option but when I click that on it says that it can't find the 'huvissafu.exe' file on the device. The problem is I've never heard of that program and my external HDD has never had an access program (like newer SanDisc's have the U3 progy). and the only way I can acces the files on it (via explorere) is by clicking the 'Browse for program' button that lets me manually find the explorer.exe file in the WINDOWS directory (edit: The Open in Folder option finally appeared today, I just found it when looking for the true name of the affor mentioned 'Browse for Programs' Button). Please let me know if there is any information you might have on this particular problem.

Thank you for all your time and help,
    Xninaki

P.S. If there is already a thread about this error, please forgive me, I usually post at work and don't have a lot of time to surf/browse the sections >< sorry, if I've been an inconvenience to anyone.

There is no reference to 'huvissafu.exe' anywhere on Google.
If you right click on the icon in My Computer and choose the "explore" option it should allow you access to the files on the HDD.
Admittedly this is not a real solution to your problem but it will allow you to make sure that the files are intact.

You should also disconnect the external HDD and then reconnect it to see if Windows will recognize it.

Due to the fact that there is nothing on Google about huvissafu.exe, I'm inclined to think that it is a virus/malware/trojan. Many of the newer viruses create names of randomly chosen strings of letters. To me, it looks like that's what this is. It could be that the file associations are out-of-whack or that a virus has wormed it's way on to the external drive. I strongly suggest that you visit the Malware forum and read this article and follow the steps exactly as they are outlined. If you come up clean, then maybe try re-loading your chipset drivers. You can also try going to Tools > Folder Options > File Types and set the default action for folders and drives to "open" using Explorer....
