Ok guys and gals. Ref my last post reguarding the full hard drive, I followed all the help I got from u guys, and as I said, my hard drive is 180Gb and I only have about 22Gbs of stuff on it. So what I did was look at my folders on the disk, just to see what size they were. Well guess what, I came across a folder that contained over 115Gbs of what????? I dont know what it is, only that the folder is labeled "_eetemp". I have no idea what it contains..only that when I opened it, it had a hell of a lot of dat files that I could not open. Funny thing was everyone of them is 64mbs in size. And to make matters worse, all of them were created on the 13-09-06.....

EEB64_1106.dat. etc etc they all look like this.

Now I really am at a loss.???????? I dont know where the came from, or how they got there. Any Ideas?????

it sounds fine to me, when I run advanced disk cleaner it finds a ton of .dat files in my temporary internet folder. I always delete them without any problems.

Necrofile made temp files like that. My hard drive would always fill up before it was finished scanning.

I've never had a problem deleting anything with the word "temp" in it. There are a few file extensions that will build up in your computer over time, and they're all unnecessary. Can't remember all of them, seemed like there were 3.

    .tmp
    .old
    .can't_remember

Anyone know of other extensions that can be freely deleted?
