I Am So Angry

This post may be upsetting to members of a sensitive nature and for that i apologize but it makes me so angry (lots of expletives that i can not use on MGs) to see the way the authorities have handled this.

This animal ran a pedophile ring here in Belgium and kept young girls prisoner for years in a cell he made in the cellar of his house for sexual abuse and was protected at his trial by very high ranking members of society, now he is complaining about his treatment in jail.

    Dutroux corrects Sabine Dardenne’s book

    19 October 2007

BRUSSELS – "Ittre prison is even worse than Buchenwald concentration camp," writes Marc Dutroux in a letter published this week in 'Dag Allemaal'. Testimonies from inside the prison show that Dutroux still shows no signs of remorse.

According to a prison warden, Dutroux recently ordered the book by Sabine Dardenne "I was twelve and I cycled to school (title translated)" and scratched out the passages which he felt were "incorrect".

i would happily hang him up by the b***s?

i am a red blooded male and like most men i enjoy things sexual but when it comes to children as some here know i am violently opposed to the protection given to pedophiles in prison they should be put in the general section of the prisons where they would receive the retribution of other prisoners.

for those who do not know MARC DETROUX please take the time to read the following and hopefully you will understand why i am ranting the way i am.

i realize this can be a very emotive subject and do not wish to upset anyone but why should we pay huge amounts of taxpayers money to keep these people in protective custody.

Understand what you're saying, and yes, it is a very emotive subject , not only to the public, but also for victims and their family. However, everyone has rights (at least in most Western countries), and that includes prisoners, (and the level of rights depends on country/State laws).

<If it is of any compensation, I have yet to hear of any protective custody that is really effective. Inmates that really want to get to someone, often eventually do.>

I understand your feelings, same, as I understand why you disagree with me.

Those girls’ rights were abused while being ignored in the most vile and foul manner...I have seen worst-case scenarios of child abuse, but that still does not desensitise me to the facts.

When it comes to human rights issues, prisoners fall into that category. Another consideration is the custodial responsibility of ensuring a prisoner's safety.

Any reasoning of rights, custodial responsibilities or how the law stands on this issue will never appease public emotion on such a topic. Protective custody for such people is and will always be an ongoing issue.

Let's see if I have the facts right. I understand what this person did so I won't bother repeating the crimes.

    1. Convicted on all counts.

    2. Sentenced to prison (in Belgium?).

    3. Have found out that, since most prisoners have kids of their own, he is not a popular person, or to turn it around, all too popular and everyone wants a piece.

    4. Given his extreme popularity, he's not going to make it out alive, and so wants protection.

Pretty close? I do not view the United States as a model of the world when it comes to prisons (quite the opposite), but they have a wing just for these kind of individuals, unfortunately pediofiles are all too common, although this individual is an exteme case.

If his sentence is life I wouldn't worry too much about it. The odds are he won't make it out alive, and the complaints are a sign he's not enjoying himself too much. Personally I'd give him what he wants, solitary confignment.

Of course, Belgium's version of protective custody may be somewhat off from what the USA does. If it was the USA he wouldn't make it out intact, not sure how Belgium is in this reguard.

    Exactly right.

What this animal has done is one one the few crimes that deserve capital punishment (at the very least)

The damage he has done to his victims and their families and friends is unforgivable, it will scar them for life.
As it is a sexual crime, the first thing that should be done is castration followed by 5 years in jail to think about what he has done and then lethal injection.

As is the case with the majority of crimes the victims were innocent therefore the punishment has to outweigh the crime.

An eye for an eye ?

No, a head for an eye

I realise it may sound barbaric to some (not me i am in favor of it) but in Turkey pedophiles are put in with the general prisoners and they usually have a painful end, as with most countries crimes against children are the most hated and should carry a sentence commensurate with the offence? (daily flogging / castration / branding or some other such deterrent and then maybe these animals would leave our children alone but as it stand now they know if they get caught the jail will spend a fortune to keep them in isolation.

After a couple of days he'd (she'd?) fit right in.

A society can be judged by how it treats individuals like this though, his crimes are massive, but do we want to outdo him? EU is against the death penalty, but torture is worse. If they deserve death kill them and be done with it, otherwise remember we're supposed to be the ones with ethics.

Personally I'm in favor of the death penalty, but only for extreme circumstances (IE, the individual WILL kill again). We in the US tend to get it wrong too much, but I'm not too sure of the EU's morals on this either.

So I'd have to ask the question again, what is protective custody in Belgium like? It doesn't have to be pleasant, just safe. Let this person stew a while and think about it.

The reason for this is obvious, what if he's innocent? Doesn't apply here I know, but somewhere down the road it could happen.

From what I've heard there isn't any punishment bad enough for this guy, unless we want to approach his level of humanity.

@BILL M i don't know what it is like in solitary but i can imagine he has it fairly good just no one to speak to.

there is a big prison here in Brugge it's only about 8 or 9 years old and recently we got to see the inside via a fly on the wall documentary and they have TV in the cells a gym a swimming pool it seems to be a holiday camp without women,so i can only assume he has also got a number of comforts because the jail where he is has only been open for 2 years before there he was here in Brugge.

he has been notorious for complaining throughout his trial he was always saying he did not get good treatment he even dismissed his lawyers 3 of them on 2 occasions because they were supposedly bias and the best thing is the state was paying for them.

    Hi Bill

My wife tried to read the book about this story. I say tried, but she found it sickening.

I then started to read the book, but I could not finish it :(

He is a Monster and should be treated in prison like the evil and twisted thing he is. :(

He won't last in prison for sure, even the worst of the lot don't tolerate stuff like that.
Every so often you hear about something like that makes you wonder why or how people neighbors whatever can turn a blind eye.

I understand how angry you feel, it's a shame people are not treated how they should be - especially in this case. They break the law in a disgusting way and complain. Pathetic.

what was most sickening about this is the police were told about him 2 full years earlier and did absolutely nothing about him.

it has come out since that he was being protected from high up, in the end a lot of officials (government and police ) had to leave their posts because of it but to this day no one else has been prosecuted (IT'S A SCANDAL)

Jeffry Domar, same thing one of his young victims escaped (naked) out in the street into the arms of cops, Domar convinced them it was a lovers quarrel and they turned him over to him. The young man was a teen, killed soon after.

As far as I'm concerned, the person concerned is not human, but sub-human. In extreme cases like this, after clear guilt and intention to re-offend has been established. Then he should be eliminated, like the dangerous vermin he is. The right to live is expired, i.m.o. No torture - just eliminate the menace, A.S.A.P., imo. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g309/Zobor/hanged.gif

A little injustice over here similar,if a person goes out and rapes someone, in prison they are allowed to have free cable TV and a playstation, yet if you end up in hospital with an illness through no fault of your own even if your staying for months ,just to watch regular TV in your bed is gonna cost you £2.50 a day:confused

What the hell is going on?
