I Believe This Imc Is A False Flag

I had an issue with the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool crashing when it go to the IMC step, stating "imc.exe has stopped working." One of the hardware guys on another forum immediately moved the thread to the malware removal section, since he assumed it was related to the FriendFinder messenger/virus.

I've ran full system scans using BitDefender 2019, SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, RogueKiller, Spybot and adwcleaner and didn't find a single thing. Also, in my research, I've discovered this is likely relating to the "integrate memory control = IMC."

So am I right in assuming they may have just jumped to a conclusion?

 

I have indeed. That was one of the first things I did after the scans came back clean. No results were found for Inbit or FriendFinder (what's commonly associated with the virus), and the only results for imc.exe were inside the Intel Diagnostic Tool folder in Program Files.

There were some .dmp files related to IMC in AppData/Local, but I assume that is just logging each time the program failed to start when running my tests. The other entires are IMCCPHR, which say they are relating to Microsoft Chinese IME PhraseUI Tools.

So far as I can tell, I have no issues. I'm a wrong?
