    Hi,
    sorry for my limited English.

well, someone was using my computer and made some changes to the sound driver's options I cannot tell which ones .
I really don't know what he did, when i first noticed that , there was a red cross on the sound icon when i clicked on it it said "no audio devices are intsalled " I tried to fix it , I tried all I could , but nothing worked. I even tried to update he driver but it said all drivers are up to date

so I ended up uninstalling realtek form the device manager as well as from installed programs .

I then tried to download realtek audio drivers from the realtek web site 5 out of 6 cannot be opened the following message appears " the content of this file cannot be unpacked the executable you are attempting to run as been corrupted ..."
The only one whose content can be extracted says "no driver was supported in this driver package"

I don't know what to do next rolleyes ,can you please help me ? ( thanks in advance:))

Here is the report from everest :

    Dear DavidGP,

Thanks for answering so soon .

I m sorry i cannot give you the make and model of my cmputer because i just don't know how , or where to find them, can you please tell me ?

As for the attachment you asked for , you can check it .

Lastly some thing as happened to my computer , the sound is now working perfectly , I just don't get it , remember I uninstalled everything from realtek , and now , everything as reappeared just as before same version of the driver and everything .

I cannot find a logical explanation to that, however at a certain moment of the day the computer was shutting down by itself and I had to turn it on quite a number of times , and it just realized hours later that the sound was back.:confused...

Do you have a explanation to that ?

Many thanks again for your answers .
I appreciate it very much .:):wave

    Hi

Weirdly Everest doesnt list very well in the free old version Windows Vista or Win7 well, so to gain your motherboard info for future reference please run the below

But very glad your audio is now working and as to a logical explanation, well all I can say is "I dont know" and thats a honest reply as in computing its a good reply as in many cases its random the fix and in your case all it may have been is a reboot, or hard shutdown and boot that cured this.

as for a random shutdown the likely suspect is heat and an overheating PC, so do check temps with the likes of Speedfan

CPU over 50c then just suspect heat as an issue.
