I cannot reload the OS

    I had a friend load WIN-XP home on my PC as per the key on the side. It worked great for years, but has lately become corrupt. I tried to reload the os on the computer with my version of WIn-XP home and I get an error message saying that the copy of windows you are trying to load is older than the copy on the computer already. What can I do to solve this? Thanks:confused
