I can't access c:/

    Can somebody please give me some advice on what to do if I'm not able to perform any task that involves my c:/ , adding/removing programs, restoring to an earlier date, etc (practically all major tasks) . What do I do now? I don't mind completely restoring/rebooting my laptop, I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW!!:mad:mad

    I have moved your thread to the software forum.

    If you want to do a repair install, you need to boot into the bios ( could be F2 or F12?) and set the boot order to have the cd drive as the first boot device. Put in the windows cd and reboot. You will get a prompt to boot to the disc. From there you will first choose to install and then the second choice will be to do a repair install once it finds your existing windows version. Then just follow the prompts.

    You'll get more help if you mention the brand and model of laptop as well as what version of windows you are running. What is the problem and when did it start?
    Do you have any images, restore/recovery disks or windows disks? Please specify what sort of disks you have so we can give you the proper advice.

    I'm on a Hp Pavillion dv4-1465 dx
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    The problem started sometime last week, I ignored it up until today
    I have three recovery disks, but I can't access any of them from my laptop because I am denied access to
    I tried downloading virus remover software, but it won't let me install it
    What do i do!?
