i cant get my AVG to scan all my email identities...and...

This bluddy firewall is driving me MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

but first the email problem,

i have 4 identities and it will only scan 3 of them .......from the start...


i have installed Incredimail....but i know IM isnt the problem because it was doing this before i installed IM...ok..


i downloaded the free AVG from this site...installed it...but it will only scan my main identities incoming and outgoing mail, not the other identities...i have looked around in there, i did find something in there in the properties of the mail but i changed it and then no mail would download at all...



and now the firewall thingy...

i dont get the firewall thingy......i havent ever used a firewall or ever had to deal with one...i have read through the help but its all jibberish to me, plesae help, here is the problem...


i downloaded from this site, Sygate Personal Firewall ( freebie). I have windows popping up all the time, i have asked this before but my message got lost in the depths of forum world... i did as i was asked and then nothing...ummm...


the messages that keep popping up mostly are...

An application named WIN32 Kernel Core Component (file name kernel32.dll) has been blocked from accessing the network, it says its blocked, i tick the little box that says dont show this window again and it keeps on showing it...its really getting on my nerves. Oh and its in the running applications box as well...so do i get rid of it or what do i do with it??? pleeeeeeeeeeeease, i'm at my wits end with these popus and noises all the time

The other one is...An application named LiveUpdate Engine COM Module (filename LuComServer_2_5.EXE) has been blocked from accessing the network. When i tick the box here that says do not show this window again it keeps showing the same windows over and over and over and over again. I think this one has something to do with Nortons that i had on my computer until you guys reccomended the AVG was better...i thoguth i got rid of all the nortons stuff on here....i went through the traffic logs and it has blocked from symantec, but i dont know if AVG goes through symantec so i dont want to do something that i shouldnt do. Oh this one isnt in the running applications box so i dont know what to do with this one....again

I thought you had your firewall problem resolved. Anyway, it doesn't look like you got all of Norton's when you uninstalled it.

We need to know which version you had installed, was it just Norton anti-virus or Norton Internet Security and how did you try and remove it. Did you go thru Add/Remove in the control panel.

Getting Norton's completely off your system may solve some or all of your issues.

its ok...

i had onthere Nortons 2001, just antivirus, nothing special...i removed it with add/remove programs

 

Go to the link below and run the Rnav2003.exe removal utility.

Restart after using, see if that helps with any of your problems and let us know.

The win32 thing still comes up, plus now there is something else running in the runing applications window...... i've never seen it before, its called backweb-7288971.exe wouldnt have a clue what it is and all the email accounts still arent scanning, did you want me to copy/paste the rnavlog???

 

Do you have Kodak software installed, maybe for a digital camera?

yep, but i only installed it today...this error has been happening since i installed the firewall prog and i installed it after i did the Rnav thing

should i unblock it from the network so it doesnt come up???

 

ok update to my last post.......they are both still coming up

I am not familiar with the settings on Sygate Personal Firewall, maybe another member will step in that has some experience with this particular firewall.

Here is an explaination of the backweb-7288971.exe and you can decide if you need it or not:

The backweb-7288971.exe is an automatic software updater for your Kodak Easyshare. To remove it, go to C:\Program Files/Kodak/KODAK Software Updater/7288971/Program/ and delete backweb-7288971.exe This won't harm your computer, but it your software won't get automatically updated if it is deleted. I have found this to be more of a nuisance having it installed becuase it slows down my internet speed dramatically.

Next, you still must have some Nortons (LuComServer_2_5.EXE) on your system. The link below will help you manually remove Nortons 2001. It is a little detailed but probably worth it, I don't think you will have any problems.
