I cant get my Slave HD to work

Hi all I just switched from AMD back in INTEL and when from Xp Pro to home. when i did that i had to reformat my main HD, Obviously got it working and everything, But my Slave HD is not showing up. I've checked the Bios and and physical cables and there all good. Note: when i first installed this HD on my old setting with Xp Pro and AMD I had to use admin tools to get windows to recognize it. I could do that again...but that would reformat, and iv got 80 gigs on it. Would be a huge loss. any ideas on how to get windows to recognize it and not have to reformat it.
P.S i ran a Diagnostic. and the HD is still in good condition.

Did you check the jumper settings?

 

Does it show in the BIOS?

Does it show under Disk Management?

 

Yes the Hd shows in Both Bios and In Disk Management.
In disk management it reads the Slave Hd as Disk 1 Dynamic, foreign

 

Does it have a Drive Letter associated with it?

 

no its not listed

 

Hmmm. I think we need a clearer picture here.

What make, model, and type of drive is it that you had to go to those lengths? What interface is driving it? Which "admin tools" did you have to use and what did they do?

 

XP Home is not capable of using Dynamic disks, only Basic ones. You'll need XP Pro to access it.
