When I plug my headset into the case i just here an electrical sound static sound and buzzing of some sort. I have installed latest drivers and everything, I am using Windows Xp. What does your Device Manager say about your audio drivers?
For XP: Go to Start>Control Panel> System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, then click the plus sign in front of Sound, Video, Game Controllers.
For Vista: Go to Start>Control Panel>Device Manager
In Device Manager, if there is a ? in front of your audio device, that means no audio driver is installed.
A ! means driver installation attempted but with problems.

Post a make and model # if your PC is manufactured (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.)
Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment.
    Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Now come back here to your thread.
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box (near the bottom of the page), scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box.

Are both of these drivers showing in Device Manager>Sounds, Audio, and Game Controllers?
If they are, disable the Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver, reboot andsee if that solves your problem.

Other than that, I can see nothing going on in yor report that might be causing the problem.
There is always a slim possibility of it being a hardware problem.
Do you have a sound card, that you can put in to test if it is the Realtek chip?

Yes, this sounds more like a hardware problem of some type.
If this was my machine I would power off and poke around inside (grounded) and take a good look at connections and what not to see if there is anything odd in there.

Ya that's what I thought. That maybe some type of hardware interference of some sort. Ive looked inside and i know everything is connected right. My sound is built in with mobo so i don't have a connection for sound. I might just have a bad mobo. Thanks for your help. I guess ill just have to call Asus up *Sigh*
