You've maybe put a password or something on that folder.

when setting up a user account it 'protects' the files in the My DOcuments folder.

You need to take ownership of the folder.

If you are unclear about how to do this let me know and I will walk your through it.

OK FIrst we need to turn off Simple File Sharing

Make sure you are logged in as administrator

In Windows Explorer goto 'Tools' -> 'Folder options'

    Select the 'View' Tab

Scroll to the bottom of the 'Advanced Settings' box and UNCHECK 'Use Simple File Sharing'

    Click 'Apply' the 'OK'

Now when you right click on the My Documents folder you are trying to access andselect properties you should see a 'security' tab in the properties dialog.

    Select the Security Tab.

At this point a dialog might popup saying you don't have permissions but can take ownership (or something similair). If it does click yes or ok

SInce windows will reconize you don't have permission here and popup this dialog you should be able to then add your name and be able to view this folder.

If it doesn't then you can select the owner tab and do it from there.

Thanks alot, but this only worked for that first folder, any sub-folders are still saying denied access. I tried doing the same thing for the other folders but when I click the security tab and try to add user, the add button is grayed out

In the security dialog for the top level folder click advanced and then add yourself and check the checkbox below that says 'apply permissions to child folders and objects'
