I can't install a HP Pavilion Into a Compaq Computer

I have an Windows XP Home Edition and im trying to install a CD burner from a HP Pavilion to a Compaq computer.

I have a CD-Wirter Plus for HP Computer drives and when i put it in to install the drive it doesn't read it or any cd for that matter. I tried it manually but that didn't work either.

Here is the drivers infomation:

IDE-CD R/RW 8x4x32 [CD-ROM drive]
3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive]

WDC WD200EB-11CPF0 [Hard drive] (20.02 GB) -- drive 0, s/n WD-WMAAU2564639, rev 06.04G06, SMART Status: Healthy

I'm taking any suggestions at this point so please help?

Have you tried to uninstall your Secondary IDE Channel in Device Manager?

It's under IDE ATA/Atapi controllers

also as well as the above info, is your CDRW seen in Disk Managment ( either goto Start > Run and paste this in compmgmt.msc ok and click Disk Managment, or right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Managment ) ?

Does the drive light come on either when you boot up or pop a CD in?

It says " Unable to connect to Logiacl Disk Manager service" when i try to go into Disk Management

Is your Logical Disk Management service disabled? I cant remember how to check if it is.
