I can't login to safe mode

    I can't login to safe mode in Windows Xp pro with SP2!
    When I reboot, hit F8 some boot menu appears instead instead the normal boot choices.
    What is wrong?

    Are you saying you cannot boot normally, and then you cannot get f8 to show you start in safe mode?

    Well, that would be the normal situation, but when I hit F8 what appears is the blue screen of a boot menu.
    And the only options I have are: Removable/ Hard disk and CDrom!
    Maybe due to my motherboard I have to type another F? different from F8?
    Weird!
