Whenever I turn my computer on I am prompted the five-choices: Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Network, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Last Known Config., and Normal Mode. I've tried all these modes but my computer keeps rebooting during the Window's loading screen. I can't even reach my desktop. Help please.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Sorry but this is not a topic for the Malware Forum. You will need to work this in the Software Forum where I will move this thread to in a minute. You should also locate your bootable CD for your Windows version (you need to say what version of Windows you are using) because you are probably going to need it.

Sounds very Vista? Do you get any numbers about the error? Like this 0x00000000.

    I'm running on XP Home.

Yes. I do get those weird numbers on a blue screen.

If you could write those numbers in here it would be a great help. It's not a fun task but also not all that time consuming. :)

    It says

    STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x8370B828, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

Is it writing anything about NTFS?

You might be able to find some relevant information and help here. Should apply for XP also according to a thread in <edited link by Administrator> that has more about it.

    He was making a joke.

No, I don't see anything about NTFS. Only those numbers.

There should be additional info in the BSOD....not just the stop error number. However, it could refer to errors in the NTfs ....as suggested.....you first should run a chkdsk /f /r ....make sure you do not have corrupt system files.

How do I run chkdsk /f if my computer continuously reboots before it loads the desktop.

Do you have your xp cd?

Have you tried safe mode? -> sorry see now you have.

Have you tried a repair install?

I'm waiting for my brother to get home because I don't know where the XP CD is at the moment. But once I get it I'll try the Repair option.

Thanks for your help everyone. I did need to recover my lost files. I think the error occured because I turned-off my computer while Windows was updating. Apparently my HP has a built in recovery system. I didn't know that. But thanks again for your time and your help. Problem fixed.
