I can't TAB

I am using Win. Vista w/IE 8 and when I left click with CTRL or right click and select 'open in new TAB' my PC freezes for a good minute and opens it in a new WINDOW. Please help... clueless in New England :cry

 

Tools > Internet Options > General (Tabs)

Check your options

I have:

Enable Tabbed Browsing (checked)
- Warn me when closing multi tabs (checked)
- Enable Quick Tabs (checked)
- Enable Tab Groups (checked)

When new tab opened, open:
-The new tab page (option)

When a pop-up is encountered
- Always open pop-ups in a new window (checked)

Open links from other programs in:
- A new window (checked)

Click OK, restart IE8, see if it works now.

If still not working I would look at your add-ons or toolbars you might have installed that could be causing the issue.
