I cnt burn movies

    I have a few movies on my HDD and I want to create some space so I thought of burning them to keep them. Well, I used Nero to burnt hem, it did burn, they are all VCDs, in 2 discs. When I had copied them ,I had copied everything that was on the initial cd. So I tried burning a first movie, turns out I cnt play it on the VCD/DVD, format not compatible. Wheere did I go wrong? Should I have coded or something?
    I dnt know anything about coding and I dnt even have DIVX codex or something-to burn DVDs....

    PLease help.:confused:
