:( It was an accident, but I did it. Is there a way to restore it? It is already gone from the Recycle Bin. It is/was called Sound Max. I searched for a new one, using some of the links you provided, but two out of three downloads didn't work and the third one disappeared into the confines of my computer, so I think I am doing something wrong. I appreciate any help that is given.

    You can try "Free Undelete":

Or just post what your sound card is, and your OS, and we could help you find your drivers. Then you can use your favorite online email program to store that file, temporarily as a backup.

Well the OS is Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)

and using a program I have to pull up my com specs, it says under Mutlimedia "None" The thing I deleted was called Sound Max and was either 6 MB or .6 MB and I see nothing else that would indicate the sound card. I will try the undelete link. Thank you for that and I'll reply if it worked or not.

Do you have a Dell or a name brand PC? Most of them come with driver restore disks that have backups of the drivers for your system. You can try that and install the driver, or you can go to the computer manufactuers website and try and download it there.

This has happened to me before. I saw "Soundmax" in the Add/Remove Programs List and thought it was spyware. Luckily it's a quick fix if you have namebrand PC.

:D Not exactly what you said but you led me in the right direction and I found the System Recovery File and it had what I needed. Thank you very much, both of you.
