I destroyed my book.

I bought this book less than three years ago. The cover fell off.

The book repair would have looked a lot less ugly if you'd have used clear tape instead of that grey stuff.

 

The clear tape wouldn't hold. The binding literally came apart.

 

If you use a high quality packing tape, the clear works just fine. Trust me, I used to work in a library.

 

Well, you don't use just plain cello-tape, that won't hold at all. There is an about 2" wide, reinforced tape I use for just such an emergency.
