I did something really stupid!

Okay I don't know what I was thinking one day and I went on my p2p program and downloaded a bunch of msn messenger winks, well the file that I downloaded had a self-installer with it that just started loading all kinds of winks and etc. I realized how stupid I had been when after 5 min had passed and my computer was still self extracting winks. Well needless to say when I start my messenger and go to the winks section my system just freezes. Since then i have deleted everything with the .MCO extension , uninstalled my messenger, re-installed messenger and various other destructive (I am sure)things but still the same thing! Can someone first tell me what I did and the severity of what I did and then maybe how to fix it?

 

did you delete the program folder for messenger after you uninstalled it? some programs keep files there incase you reinstall the prog sometime.

uninstall messenger again

delete the program folder, it will be in c:\program files (if it exsists)

then try reinstall
