I Don't Know If I've Just Made My Ipad Vulnerable

I opened the App Store to see if there were any updates. There was one under an app called nPlayer Plus (a media player) but there was a warning with it.

    "ATTENTION!!!
DO NOT UPDATE THIS VERSION if you are using an iOS 10.3.3 or lower device.
We will update the new version as soon as possible."

I'm on iOS 9.3.5 Thinking this warning had something to do with security, I closed the App Store without updating and saw the red mark on the App Store icon indicating there was an update available. But then after a few minutes, that red mark disappeared, and I opened the App Store again to find that the update had downloaded automatically. Panicking, I very quickly deleted the app. Am I worrying about nothing, or does the above warning sound to anyone else like it has something to do with security?
