I.E6 problem

Hello, I have a serious problem with I.e 6 in the last couple of days. It runs for approx 20 mins then crashes. I have run various spyware killers and also panda scan.. The spyware killers find nothing , but panda scan keeps finding a dialer: XD program.... I'm running xp pro with the sp 2 pack... I'm on broadband and as far as I'm aware am not affected by the dialer.
Yesterday my pc crashed with with a error message <windowsroot>\system32\hal.dll missing! I restarted in safe mode and reverted back to best known configuration and reebooted ok....I have run all anti virus and spyware programs from safe mode.
If anyone can give advise Im all ears .thanks
