I.Explorer impossible update

I HAVE w2000 & i'M TRYING TO INSTALL A GAME FOR MY SON WHICH DEMANDS i.eXPLORER 5.5 ( I have Exp.5)- I have tried for a week to find a download that will give me 5.5 or 6 but can only find downloads which require a connection to the internet which I currently don't have - I can't believe it can be so difficult to upgrade this software - any help please?

 

The only way to get IE 6 is to get it from the web (I do not recommend IE 5.5 as it is well over 5 years old). If, however, you need to download the files one place (like work) so you can take them to another place (like home) there is a way to download the installation files without installing:

Thanks - I'll try that - software companies should take a lesson from this forum regarding passing on accurate,precise,prompt information.

 

Welcome to MG. Another possible source of IE6 is to checkout the computer mags at your local stores. Quite often IE6 will be included in the free CD's or DVD's that accompany these mags. It will give you a permanent copy for later, if you need it again. Bazza
