i get the boot

    Hi can someone help me out? Something just recently started on my laptop ( Compac Presario with Xp ( No Vista)) when I go online and try to chat to some one or go in a room for chating ( like flyordie pool) i get a message that " Internet Explorer had a problem and shut down Internet Explorer 7 got all the updates and don't know what to do now. Any help is appreciated.
