I got a new PC

At Walmart, one of their bargain Compaq's.

I have to say that it's not sucking anywhere near as bad as the last one I bought there.

Last one was an HP 533w-b $689 one of the blitz systems, well I lost my receipt and thats why I still have it, I had to exchange it 7 times before I found one that actually worked, then the CD drive started having gear problems and going "ONK ONK ONK", and the thing had a 2 Ghz Celeron in it, with a 400 Mhz FSB, total piece of crap, from the beginning I had to add RAM, disable the sound board, the integrated one, cause it snapped and crackled and hissed (which was just something all HP's with integrated sound did, come to find out later), and installed a sound blaster.

The monitor BLEW UP after a year, I mean I came home from work (I work at Walmart, my discount is the only reason I buy things there ), and flipped the computer on and BOOM!!!! up in flames and smoke, I had to grab a fire extinguisher to put the damn thing out, my fire alarm went off, my apartment complex had to be evacuated, I was SO embarassed.

Then finally today, the system board went out (computer had been acting all fudged up and was crashing randomly for a couple weeks).

Today was payday though, so armed with my paycheck in one hand and my discount card in the other, I held my nose and bought another system there.

And to my shock, it WORKS, HAHA, better than I figured it would, cost me all of $400 too, integrated sound does better than my SB did, the integrated video isn't all that bad really, I'm thinking all it needs is another 512 megs of RAM and I'll be set.

Just had to say these Celeron D's are not bad at all.

Now if it still works in a year, I'll be impressed.
