I got another question.

So heres the deal, I got an email from some Turkish company. After TWO years of trying to get aways from them, I wanted to UNsubscribe...then, my Internet went down. They put in some random thing that was hiding BEHIND a screensaver, and was putting in shortcuts to my Start, Favorites and Desktop. It thinks is BunuDene and Turke Seks...SO, I bought the Admin Pak, and when I looked, It can reproduce itself...there is a LOG file which kind of tells it what to do, and it replaces the files which were deleted. Anybody have an idea? OH and I had TWO separate systems, and they BOTH did not work, and when I installed the third system, it works...I called the ISP, and we tried EVERY single thing possible, and it still did not work...but I CAN ping numbers, but not URL's. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like DNS is broken. DNS (Domain Name Service) is what translates host names (www.google.com) to ip addresses (192.168.14.67) on the Internet.

The best guesses I have are (in most to least likely order):
TCP/IP settings are damaged/invalid and need to be reinstalled/reset.
You have SpyWare that is messing with your machine
You have a virus.

Unfortunately I'd really need to know what your OS is before I could give you any real help.

 

Sounds like good ol reformat time. I think that is the only way you can be sure you wiped it out.

 

Windows XP pro. The DNS was replaced 5 times, I called the ISP, we fixed other crap, and we tried EVERYTHING possible...but it still didnt work...its not SpyWare, because adaware cannot find it. And it is not a virus, we searched for it about 5 times throughout the whole computer.
