Well, got step one done on my road to dental fitness. It sucked. My blood pressure last week was 180 over 120, they kinda freaked. I had to explain that I hate them, but mean them no harm.

BP was 129 over 79 today.

And they are going to have to work out this NO2 stuff. I mean it started great, I had a killer buzz, then it went away while they are drilling into my tooth. I think I should be just as high at the end as I am at the start!

At $38, bring the buzz on!

OOOoooooo....I love the nitrous! I get it just with a teeth cleaning...'cept that haven't been giving it to me lately. :(

And ya, the start pumping oxygen in at the end. How much does that suck??

Dayum on your BP. I bet they freaked.

Just the word dentist makes me tremble, had experiences you would not believe. Never had nitrous. Holy moly keep an eye on that blood pressure.

I am ok with the oxygen at the end, but they killed my buzz while The Evil One was drilling on my tooth! :cry

Why does The Evil One ask me questions when she has her fingers in my mouth?

Darlene! Get the NO2! Very similar to a certain green herb I believe you have posted about, but legal!

As far as the BP, I have a friend who is a Nurse Practitioner for a cardiologist. Will see what she thinks, but I suspect they have a bad meter. I can crank my heart rate to 220BPM when I bike ride with no ill effects. If my blood pressure was 180 over 120 while sitting in a chair, I don't think I could even ride a bike!:cool

My heart use to take off and beat 180 to 200 bpm, finally had that fixed with ablation, what a relief.
Strokes run in my family so I have become obsessed with my blood pressure.
My teeth problem is no longer a problem except for a crooked dentist here that took over $4k and didn't come through, might be too late for court too.
By the way, I am pro legalizing but I personally don't partake.

Darlene, I have read some of your posts on the herb, thought you might like to try something similar feeling, but legal next time you are at the Dentist's office. :dood

Dammit, I too went to the dreaded dentist today. Was horrible, I sat there white as a ghost as the feller asked me if I was ok. He connected the IV and pumped me full of Goodness knows what I forget the name of it. He was looking at me as if to say "she should be out like a light by now" I required a little extra and then finally things all went blurry :-D

Got two of me fangs pulled, 4 fills, a crown and a buckle whatever that is....... I'm a little angry because they were meant to polish them too, (guess they want me to come back another time so they get more £ rolleyes) But alas...job's a good 'un, and I for one am glad it's over....

So I know how you feel E :p

You didn't read far enough apparently. I did when I was young, then it did not agree with me, so I do not. Dan is a medical patient.
My concern was over a young man who worked at a shop (all the right permits, tax numbers the whole 9 yards) but was arrested and threatened with 20 years.
Hopefully that will change with new administration now.

I read about that. Pretty stupid when there are real crimes being committed in ... Oh wait, this is the Lounge, not the Hot Button area. :-D

Try the NO2. Fun, legal, makes dental trip more better.

That is the beauty of it, they hit you with a little oxygen or fresh air, and in just a few mins you are back to normal. You are just buzzed while you are in the chair. :-D

Most of the times I was at the dentist I was pregnant with an abscessed tooth, so novicane didn't even work, not sure there was even nitrice as an option.

My first, I was 17 pregnant with my second child, husband just went to jail. My mother came and got me after a couple weeks went to the dentist.
He was a small asian man with two assistances, I couldn't be put out being pregnant the novicane didn't work due to the abscess, so he put one knee on the chair between my legs the other knee in the center of my chest the two assistants held each arm down on the arm rest and he pulled.
They had to brace me in the chair afterward because I went totally limp.
The other times weren't much better. I tremble at the word DENTIST :(

Damn Darlene :eek I can see why. We think WE went thru a bit of a bad time... what you went thru makes our day to the tooth doc look like a walk in the park :(

Wow, that is rough Darlene! Sorry you had to go through that.

I got a couple of stories as well. I paid an 'Oral Surgeon' to remove a wisdom tooth at the advice of my dentist. Well, he had a bit of trouble with it, had me hold my head still with my arms whilst he cracked and eventually removed it. I was not happy with that guy.

Another time, when I was traveling a lot, I had a bad toothache, went to a dentist in Valencia, CA, who told me I needed a root canal. I was only going to be in that city for a month or so, so we decided he would do the root canal, and another dentist could do the crown. Well, this guy jabbed one of the files they use through the root of my tooth, a good 1/4" was sticking out. He stopped, and did an x-ray with the file still in my jaw. I did not know this was a problem, he finished up, I paid him.

I went to my local dentist to have the crown done. He informed me a root canal had not been done. I said it had. He said nope. No root canal, no crown. So I drive off to Palm Springs CA, and go to a very pricey looking oral surgeon, who starts a root canal, and finds the hole in the root of my tooth. He stops, explains the problem, tells me it will cost almost twice as much $ for the root canal, and there is a small chance it will work. But after hearing about the doctor in Valencia, he said the area was numb, he would do an extraction. He did it, and I think I paid him under $200. Nice guy.

A month later I got a freaking bill from the butcher dentist for the price of a crown. The 'dentist' that messed up a root canal, tried to charge me for a crown, on a tooth another dentist extracted. Said 'dentist' was straightened out quite abruptly. :-D

So I have my own reasons for not being fond of 'The Evil One'. But the one I am seeing seems to know her stuff, and has only charged me for services provided, so I will go back.

It was years ago Joey, I don't remember the exact price. And I was in Palm Springs CA. Not exactly where you go for inexpensive medical work... He also had to do some X-rays and such.
