I hate itunes

So yesterday my sister says that I need to update itunes because it won't sync to her ipod nano video. So I go to 'check for updates' it says 8.0.2 is available and do I want to download it? Yes. I do. Thanks!
So it goes through the process, installs, and then says I have to restart. I do all of this willingly and happily expecting to be able to add music to her ipod. Then after my restart it says it still can't sync for her. Huh? Wait. Ok.
So I start poking around and see that I'm still running 7.3something. So I go to apple and download the latest version. Click the button and it goes directly to a window that says Thanks for downloading and tells me all about 'getting started'. So I go to itunes and plug in the ipod it says it still won't sync. WHAT?!?!
Annoyed I poke again and BAM! itunes 7.3something is still running.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot people?!?!?! I'm going a little crazy over here HELP!

 

Uninstall your old version of iTunes before you install the new one.

 

:-oI got it. I had to open Quicktime and update from there. I didn't have to uninstall anything and I didn't lose any music this way. Thanks for your help though!

 

As long as it works, who cares how it's done, right?
