Before i was under the name Barry_Sydney and i was helped by dlb to get drivers for my computer, but again my roomates destroyed it and i went to format and load and behold, my ethernet adapter isn't working, i even came back to the website and installed it from the list dlb gave me and now my computer crashes, can anyone help?

Sometimes, it is better to just reformat the system (Remember, reformats do not always work 1st time). In addition DO NOT LET "ROOM MATES" on your machine! 'Vista' may ask you "Stay on-line" - Ignore that - Come off line but Keep everything plugged in. 'XP Pro' - No probs.

If anyone in my household even "Looks" at my office matrix, they are cemented to the floor in their various rooms!

    Hi

Can you give us some information.

What Windows version are you using?

If you clean installed did you install all the drivers dlb mentioned and more so the Chipset driver?

What if any error messages are you getting when your PC crashes? please give these errors in full.

But to help us with some background info please follow the below

    HAHA thanks!

I do have XP and i reformat no problem. . . My ex canned all of my CD's when we broke up, so i don't have any drivers. Before i did format i backed all my drivers up except it didn't back up my ethernet controller driver. When i did infact find the right driver finally after searching for days, it listed a bunch of other componants like a bunch of Packet Scheduler miniport, WAN Miniport and two ethernet controllers (which i know i had one!) then my computer just crashes and windows won't load it goes reallllllllly slow, and the only way i can get into windows is through SAFE MODE and it still takes forever to load. . . the only way i can get into windows is if i go into SAFE MODE and disable the 10!!!!! things it lists under network adapters, and it is still a hit and miss, sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn't. . . .

    Hi

SP3 could work and could fix whats wrong, although its its not a Microsoft application causing the issue then you will still have the problems you are having now after installing SP3.

Again to help you if you attach an Everest log we maybe able to find a cause and would have the info to suggest the drivers to install.

Will also need to know in Device Manager what devices have a yellow ! mark by them if any? also what errors of a description of the internet issues you are having will help as well as what suggests your Service Pack (and what one is it) that is suggesting to you its not working?

Any error messages you gain will help diagnose this.
