and would like at the least a temporary (cheap) solution, since I'm planning on replacing my PC in a couple of months.

The first problem started about a year or so ago. My PC would randomly play 3 bars of the same song. It was never more then a few bars and then it would be quiet for a long period of time. At the time it started I read a lot of stuff about the BIOS plays kind of a lullaby and only 3 bars, but mine is definitely not a lullaby. The music had stopped for a few months but when the second issue started the music started up again.

My PC now goes into a random reboot cycle. I thought the CPU was overheating and the fan wasn't working right so I got air and blew out the CPU fan and the rest of my PC. MY PC reboots no matter what if the fan is on or off. I've tried using a new CPU fan but that doesn't improve it and I've also used a new PSU and it doesn't help. I've run every scan I have (AdAware, Avast, Spybot, MalwareBytes, Defrag, CCleaner) and nothing has been picked up. Yes, I update them regularly.

This problem is driving me nuts and I'm sitting at my SO's PC just to post this because My PC's in one of it's moods and I've shut it down and unplugged it so that it can't accidentally get turned back on.

Is there anything I can do to salvage my PC that I haven't already tried? I'd like to be able to let my DD's play with it once I replace it, if I can

Is there no one on this board that can help me? I only get a few minutes of my PC time and would really like to not have to kick my SO off of his to get things done that need doing

Test the RAM. A stick going bad may cause a reboot.
If you have two sticks, take one out and fire up the computer. Warning, because it has less RAM it will be noticeably slower but be patient. If it doesn't reboot, you've found the bad stick. If it does reboot, swich sticks and try again.

Will give that a try and hope it solves the reboot issue but that doesn't answer the music issue or if the two issues could be connected...

Ok tried it and it didn't fix the problem...

The reboot time is unpredictable it can be 2 minutes to 9 hours

I did search because I know there is a song hidden in windows but forgetting the name, it was almost impossiblew to do a decent search.
If I can "discover" the name then maybe I'll find out why it's there and the conditions under which it plays.

    Thank You...

It is definitely not a lullaby (which is what I heard was connected to the BIOS) it is a song I recognize but not one of "my" songs so I may recognize it if you can remember the name.

Thank You very much for your help
