I've seen an inexplensive PCIe X4 adaptor that has a sata port on it plus it has two slots so you can insert both a m.2 M key ssd and a m.2 M & B key ssd. My question is that when inserting my m.2 M & B ssd in the B slot on the adaptor ( it says it's for B ssd and M & B key ssd types ) will it transmit the data through the PCIe slot connection, or do I need to use the sata connection to the motherboard as though it was a stand alone 2.5" ssd?
So that only a m.2 M key ssd actually transmit the data through the PCIe slot?

Is there a link to the card you've seen?

The SATA connector is only for installing a SATA M2 SSD in the top slot. You don't need it for the PCIe M2 SSD, in the lower slot. That one is direct to the PCIe bus on the motherboard.
