:cry My dad is tripping a lot. he is very angry wants his computer back to normal.

this all started when i deleted Earth Link Total Access off my computer. since i have deleted it this keeps on appearing and i am worried:

    "TotalAccess Core Applications
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "TACORE.msi" in the box below.

    TotalAccess Core Applications
(yellow triangle with an "!") ERROR1706. No valid source could be found for product TotalAccess Core Applications. The Windows Installer cannot continue.
    OK"

If I click OK, the whole process starts again. If I click CANCEL, it goes away and starts again automatically. it stops after clicking the stop button five times.

Please, please help me. i really need your help

anyone please help me, i need it alot. i really need your help

How did you "delete" it? Did you just nuke the files with the Delete key, or did you uninstall the program?

Assuming you have some version of Windows, look to see if Total Access is listed in your Add/Remove programs. If it is, and you are missing all the files, you may need to reinstall it to be able to uninstall it.

Yes...you will have to reinstall what you removed. The other option is to try doing a system restore to a point before you removed that software.

Is Earthlink your ISP? If it is, you will need to clean and reinstall.

If it isn't, you will just need to clean of the remnants of Earthlink apps if you no longer use Earthlink.

how do you check to see if it's your ISP?

Well who do you pay each month for your internet connection?

The person paying your internet bills, whoever that is, will know. If it's your dad, tell him you need this information to make the computer normal and functional again. ;)

it's not my isp and how do i clean the remnants of Earthlink apps if i no longer use Earthlink.

If Earthlink is no longer your ISP, you will need to uninstall all their stuff. Don't just delete the files, actually go through the uninstall process. If you have deleted the files manually, that will be tricky, but reinstalling the application will make it possible to do a full reinstall and get rid of all of it.

Download from here and install, then use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall it.

    Please restart into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):

    EarthLink Wireless High Speed
    EarthLink Spyware Blocker
    EarthLink Accelerator
    EarthLink FastLane
    EarthLink MailBox
    EarthLink Software
    Video ActiveX Solution 2.07

    Reboot in to Normal mode.

Download CCLeaner and install this application.Open this app and run both the Cleaner and the Registry Cleaner from the buttons on the left. When using the registry cleaner part make sure you select to make a back up of the registry when prompted!

You should then be free of Earthlink applications.

Or you can do what Lev suggested. In fact, I'd recommend doing that instead. It's more thorough and gets rid of a lot more left-overs.

well mimsy lev's booting process didn't work for me. you think i should try your's? By the way, is this a big problem?

Could also go to Start,Search. Type EarthLink and hit go. See what the pup dog finds and remove with no regrets.

If Lev's booting process didn't work, definitely try reinstalling the EarthLink software and uninstalling it.

EarthLink is not malware, so aside from a performance perspective it's not necessarily a problem. In your first post though you implied that the computer is not working as normal, so you probably want to remove this program.

If the father wants EarthLinkTotalAccess so that the machine is "back to normal" just pop in the installation disk after removing the old remnants.
I used to use EarthLink when I was on dialup before switching to cable. Had to reinstall several times after power outages while online. Blows the entire IP into an uproar.

    ok.

now i've downloaded the earthlink, it isn't really the earthlink total access program. it is an installer for earthlink total access. the name of it is smart installer and when you click on it, it says if to update or not. when you click yes for update, the same thing occurs as when you started the computer, what shoud i do now?

Have you tried add/remove programs in normal mode? Start>Control Panel>add/remove programs. Is there any total access software listed?

  24. GT 2008

    GT 2008 Private E-2

there aren't any components of the software but it still keeps trying to install. when i go on other sites to download the program and i click download it doesn't download, it doesn't even pop up and ask if to run or save. What could cause that and what should i do? Help, please

The 1706 error seems to indicate that there is a problem with the Windows Installer being corrupted. Before removing EarthLink remnants in the installer I want to make sure that you tried Add/Remove programs to remove any Earthlink programs. Then if the problem persists I would follow the instructions in this link even though the error number is different. http://kb.earthlink.net/case.asp?article=80393 Don't reinstall Earthlink in step #19 but restart instead.
