i have a fan going the wrong way

it's blowing into the case when it should be sucking air out of the case ... how do i reverse the direction? and i can;t flip it cause it has a light preventing it from being fastened the opposite way ... could i just rearrange the pins in the molex? there are only two ... or cut/strip the wires and switch them that way? or should i just chuck the fan and buy one that can suck air out of the case

What do you mean by a light. I have some LED fans and i have no problem switching them around.

a cathode light ... kinna like this http://www.xoxide.com/blucolcat80f.html but a different make ... i can't flip it cause the light is screwed into the fan in such a way that prevents me from reversing the fan

Yes.. you can switch the Red and black (or yellow and black) wires... but I wouldnt recomend it as the fan is designed to operate in one direction only, so the blades are formed as such that airflow is at maximum going in that direction. If its a normal case fan, chances are the airflow will be severly decreaced if you reverse the polarity.

Surley you must be able to unscrew the light temporarily to access the fan?

EDIT : ahh, i see what you mean. Just move the fan to the front of the case so the light is pointing to the front, and use some sort of standoff to mount it.

yea ... im just going to get an LED fan ... i think the cathode is too bright anyway ... i just hate to be out of 20$ ... oh well
