You can try running system file checker (sfc.exe) on your machine & see if it finds these & possibly other corrupt files. It will prompt you for the WinME CD in order to fix them, or you can steer it to a folder on your HDD where the CD system files might reside (Wincabs, for instance).

Otherwise, you can find a copy of just about any DLL at the following site, and replace it manually. I found the shlwapi.dll file there, but couldn't find the other one, even on Google. Perhaps it's mis-spelled?

    evilevets,

    You do sound like a smart-ass, but " that's your problem ".

    burg,

Try running your Internet Explorer repair tool. If that doesn't help please post your exact error message?

Depending on the error message(s), you might be able to solve this with your Windows Me startup disk.

    Let us know

I may be wrong here, but as far as I'm aware Windows ME doesn't have System File Checker as such.

You can instead use an option named Extract File that is located in the System Configuration Utility.

Go to Start, Run, and type in msconfig and click ok.

Click extract file, and you will need your Windows CD and/or the relevant files.

You could also try System Restore if that's an option.
