I have a weird problem..

I have a desktop Icon I cannot delete. I used to play WoW and at some point, my brother tried to get the transfer patch for the test sever. I dont think he completed the DL but now now I have an icon or whatever the hell it is named "WoW-1.3.1.4297-to-0.4.0-enUS-patch" sitting on my desktop. As I said I cannot move, delete or do anything to it, even in safe mode. The error mssg I get reads " Cannot delete WoW-1.3.1.4297-to-0.4.0-enUS-patch: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."

World of Warcraft has been removed from my computer using the uninstall and there are no WoW folders left that I can see.


Any help is much appreciated.

Hmm that is strange that you can't delete it in Safe Mode. I have had similar files that I couldn't delete but going into safe mode let me. Not sure what you could do then.

 

Yes...I'm stumped. I posted this in the software forums also because I'm not sure its a "game" problem.
