that I would like to upgrade. It now has windows 98 OS, AMD-K6-2-P processor @ 433 mhz, 32 mb RAM @100 mhz, 4.3 gb HD, 24X CD-ROM, one typelll pc card slot, USB port, serial port, paralle port Trident Cyberblade 17 AGP controller, 4.3 GB HD IS 4200 RPM ata-4/ Ultra DMA interface.

I would like to upgrade to 20/30 GB hardrive where I can install wXP OS, and upgrade to be able to use my Linksys G router to connect to DSL, so that I may sit in my easy chair and get football scores or update games I play in. I am 62 years old and know just enought to get in troublr with computers, I built the one I'm working on at the present. My queston is most of hard drives I see now are 7200 RPM will this work in my laptop and how do I install card to hook up to wireless network, can I get something to use in PC card slot or do I need to hook up thru USB pory and if so how to I upgrade USB to 2.0. Thanks for any help I can get. Catsrdawg

I would maybe go with Win2k instead. As for the drive, you can usually find a 5400 rpm if you look. A 7200 should be no problem. The problem is with the amount of RAM. The unit can be upgraded to 256mb, which should help in the long run.
