Everything was fine until yesterday afternoon when no one was home. I came back to try and look at a few things and maybe play a quick game of Majong but noooo. I can't see any of the little graphics on the side of the yahoo homepage, any site with graphics in the logo I can't see... unless I use explorer instead of firefox and frankly, I trust firefox more.
    any suggestions?
Is it me or does firefox seem a little quirky after that last update?

    Hi

First steps are if you have not already done so, is to delete your internet temps and cookies, then restart Firefox.

What version of Firefox are you using?
    What Windows Version?

Have you installed anything new before this happened, if so what?

What addons did you install with FF? Firefox updates addons automatically and if you have a "no script" type of addon, you must allow specific domains access to run java script and flash on your browser.

IE has both turned on by default thus you're able to see them in IE.

IN FF, go to Tools -> Addons and list what you have. If you want, you can uninstall all the addons to test if it makes any difference.

I used dcleaner to delete temp files and cookies to see if that would work, but to no avail. I am using firefox 3.0.1 and windows XP and haven't installed anything new.
As far as the add-ons go, I haven't really installed any of them, I had OldFactory Black installed, but it isn't compatible with the 3.0.1 version. I do have quite a few plug-ins though (which may be the same as add-ons... but I'm not sure)
    Here's that list:
    Adobe Acrobat v 7.00
    Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U7
    Media Forge~Mirage Plug-in 4.3.71.0
Microsoft DRM - there are 2 of these, one is 'network object', the other "plug-in'
Move Networks Quantum Media Player npmnqmp 07030901
Mozilla ActiveX control and plug-in support
    Quicktime plug-in 7.1
    Real JukeBox NS plug-in
    RealPlayer Version Plug-in 6.0.12.1483
    RealPlayer(tm) G2 Live Connect-Enabled (32bit)
    Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124
    Shockwave for Director v10.1
Solid State ION Mozilla plug-in .846
Windows Media Player plug-in Dynamic Link Library Npdsplay dll

    What is your OS?

Just to be sure that CCleaner deleted FF temporary files use FF Tools>ClearPrivateData and select both Cache and OfflineWebData

well deleting the temps in FF did the trick. What could have caused that to happen though?

Probably just a corrupted file. I just know that it is usually a cache problem when graphics don't work on your favorite websites. I've seen several threads where there is miscommunication about deleting Temp Internet Files (IE) and Cache (FF) because they are different names for the same type of file but stored in different places on your PC.

Just so you know CCleaner will delete the FF cache if you mark the appropriate box under the Applications tab in the cleaner. [I don't like to clear my cache or history very often but the option is available.] :)
