How about follow these instructions in this link that Musksnipe already gave you in the thread you hijacked.

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1097657&postcount=6

....and stop posting every minute - give others an opportunity to think and actually reply to your post! There are many others seeking help on the forum too before you.

It's also nice to mention what OS you are running; if the computer is a desktop or notebook, what is the brand and model. What is the soundcard? When did the sound quit? Do you get sound thru the headphone? What you have tried so far to fix the problem.
If the computer is running XP, have you tried using a restore point before the sound was broken?
Have you looked in the BIOS just to be sure that the sound is enabled?
Can you hear the POST beep? Can you hear the sound when windows starts up?

I am going to ask you to answer any questions I ask, with real info, and not nonsense. If you want help that's the way it's going to have to be.

Now, run through this list and make sure all these things are not responsible for your sound loss. Make sure the speakers are plugged into the proper jack and that they actually work. (Test on another PC, if you don't know)

First step: Is the volume on?
Double click the audio icon in the task bar to get to the Master Volume controller and check ALL settings.
Second step: Is the Windows Audio service running?
    Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services
Scroll down the list of services until you find Windows Audio
Open up Windows Audio by double clicking
Make sure it is running, if not, click on Start.
If the first 2 steps didn't fix the problem.
Third step: Check to see if your Sound Device drivers are OK. Use Device Manager:
To open Device Manager: Start>Control Panel> System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, then click the plus sign in front of Sound, Video, Game Controllers.
In Device Manager, is there is a ? or ! in front of your audio device?
    Fourth step: BIOS:
As the PC starts, press one of these keys (here is a list by manufacturer) http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm
Or the right key will be posted on the very first screen. Tap it until you enter set-up, then look for your audio (it should be in Advanced) Make sure that it is on

If you checked all these and they are all OK or set correctly, I will need some info
    Fifth step: System Information
If you have a retail PC, post the manufacturer name and model #
Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment
    Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
    Download, install, and run it.
Click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware-related Pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

I need answers to everything in red and I need the report, also.
