i have some message in os

    am getting this message when i am trying to acess open a file,
    "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item."

    More info on this is needed, like the the two questions above and also...

    What Windows version?

    Are the files you are accessing on a network?

    Are the files on a secondary hard drive that may have been added frm a different PC?

    Does this happen for specific files/folders or all of them?

    Are you logged in as Admin? ( if XP or above is your OS )

    If its Vista then at times even though you are the admin you are still a limited admin and some core windows folders are locked.

    The error you are receiving may be from a security module that MS added SP2 era. Open Add/remove programs, windows components, and uncheck Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration.
