I have windows updates turned on ........

I have windows update turned on but I havn't seen SP3 as yet download to my computer, seeing as I have seen that it has obviously been available for a while now, why is it that it hasn't arrived at my computer yet? Anybody know?

Also what will SP3 do for me? Will it clean my dishes, and will it improve my life like Bill Gates would like to make us all believe windows is fantastic? Linux is getting so much closer to my PC.

It is not yet available as an Automatic Update. If you click Start > All Programs > Windows Update, it will be listed there as an optional download. Automatic Updates are those which Microsoft deems critical and necessary for stable/safe operation of Windows. Service Pack 3 is neither critical or necessary at this point. I have read many varying user experiences with SP3, and for now, I am personally not going to install it. I remember back when SP2 first was released and how some people had problems with it, so I'll wait a couple of months before I install SP3. However, if you do want to install it, it's available here at Major Geeks http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Windows_XP_Service_Pack_3_d4323.html This is an .ISO image file which requires burning to a CD and installing it from there. If you'd rather have a file you double click and run, use this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389 There's link to download SP3 a short ways down the page. I have attached a screen shot so you know what to look for. It's kind of small and easy to overlook if you scroll too fast or something. Anyway- there you have it! I hope this helps!
