i have wireless but how to join pcs

I have set up my computers to get internet, mix of wireless and cable but now I want to join them up so I can share files and printers and music files etc. I set up home networking but nothing happens, I have 2pcs running xp and a laptop running vista. Just point me in the right direction for an idiots guide.

Here are a couple of guides that should set you up.
A couple of road blocks might be firewall issues and user account permissions.
You may need to "allow" your network in a third party firewall networking section. Also, you may need the same account on all computers with the same password and log in at least once. These problems may not occur but can sometimes crop up.

If that tutorial does not work for you, post your OS for the computers and what you have tried.

Windows may not have the worst set of interfaces for file sharing, but it has to be a contender. To ease the pain be sure to set up and share a c:/temp folder for each computer you have at home and any visitors you want to share with. At least you will know the exact folder name and its location. You may have more success mapping drives than actually sharing and knowing this helps a ton.
