i KEEP getting spam

i keep getting spam sent to me i. ihave 2 email addresses. 1 is for trusted people and the other is for sites that wont let you do anything unless you supply a valid email. the problem is i am on broadband and the ip address is the same all the time and the other is that is the email address joeblogg@username.ntl.co.uk . i keep getting emails addressed to everyone except me but they have the right username. i get between 4-10 of these everyday.

i constantly run a cleanup+ spyware on the puter from safe mode but still get emails.

also i am using microsoft outlook 2003 and it has the nortons spam feature but it puts everything in the spam folder. is there anything out there that will help tried to look for Spam Inspector but cannt find it in the search software

I'm moving this to the software forum as it is not really a malware problem. You have just gotten yourself onto some lists that spammers use. Whatever you do, do not reply to any of them especially if they say click here to be removed. All that does is confirm they had a valid email address and you will be added to more lists.

Also to add to Chas's post ... dont bounce the emails if your Spam program allows you to bounce them back... spammers are getting creative as an email bounced back quickly can tell them an account is active.

I've now not bounced emails back for years and do see a drop in junk these days.

Also good practice is not to use any email addresses off your ISP account as they generally have the same user info after the @ ... its best to use an online account eg. Hotmail ( disposable after 30 days if you get too much spam, then create a new one ) or Gmail.. Gmails AntiSpam is very good IMO.
