i kneed some help with dvd shrink3.2

i just down loaded the dvd shrink 3.2 and have tried it on an old dvd i had and it worked. now what im worried about is i have 3 kids running loose in this house and i want to back up my hole collection just in case my kids get ahold of the dvds,but what im worried about is some one told me that if the disk box says copy protected than if i make a back up of it, the original disk will never play agen is that true??now it will back it up but a messige box appers with,(this dvd is r.e.c protected! if you CORECTLY specify the correct region for witch this dvd was intended,dvd shrink will removethe r.e.c protection. if you leave the r.c.e coding unmodified,this dvd will not play in a region-free dvd player,or a player with region code other than intended region) and then it askes you to choose a region or leave it un moddifed. please help i dont want to ruin my dvds expecialy my new ones

I have never ever heard that dvd shrink has ever made a disk unplayable.
I have used it to back up over 300 dvds.

 

'Some one' is entirely wrong. DVD Shrink or any other DVD copying software will not change your original DVDs in any way or make them unplayable. The RCE warning or any other warnings apply only to the copy. If the original DVD played in your DVD player you don't need to worry about the region code or RCE protection on the copy. That option is for those who are copying foreign DVDs with different region codes (click here for an explanation of region coding) and don't have a region code free DVD player.
