I know nobody will be able to fix this but its worth a try

i think its because i overclocked but this is what i get

First screen: Invalid boot.ini file
booting from c:\windows\

Second screen: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
<windows root>\system32\hal.dll
Please re-install a copy of the file above

CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE! i just did a whole reformat today and installed everything which took hours and i dont wana do it again im running windows xp pro

Its a good idea not to overclock if you aren't experienced with it.

Boot to recovery console.

run bootcfg /rebuild

OS identifier: Xp
Load options: (Depends on your service pack level)

No it just rebuilds the boot stuff. Nothing will be deleted.
1. Boot to recovery console.
2. run bootcfg /rebuild

 

hwo do i do that tho...put in windows cd...repair..then boot w.e?

 

boot from windows cd, when its loading up, it will say press F2 to run recovery console

 

No, its not F2.

You boot to CD and when its done loading, press 'R' for recovery console.
