I installed ubuntu onto my new usb2 seagate 250gig HD and it set up a 23 gig partition which it called ext.2, and another smaller one for the swap file. After the install was complete I restarted and went into my computer and drive I (my usb2 hard drive) is now smaller, but I can't find the partition with Ubuntu on it. any ideas where it is and how to access it?

Assuming you meant that you restarted in Windows...
You can't "see" linux partitions in "My PC". The file systems are different and not compatible.

If you are using windows 2000 or newer you can see those partitions in the disk management administrative tool, but not access the files.

yeah it's minus for windows, because linux have utilities which allow you to access windows partitions and files, and windows doesn't

I'm running ME, how do I boot into Ubuntu then? I checked the bios settings but can't figure out a way to boot into my usb 2 drive. I'm using ubuntu right now, but off the CD, how do I boot to the installation, or can't it be done?

You didn't install a boot manager when you installed linux?

is motherboard can boot from external hd? if yes you will need to adjust boot loader(unfortunelly i've never installed ubuntu that's why i can't make any suggestion). if no you won't be able to boot from this HD at all. by the way you may use 3d party boot manager like os selector.

Yeah, I think the MB is the problem, I don't think it supports ext boot. Soooo, is there a way to delete the partition that Ubuntu created and and get my space back at least?

yes there is a way to delete the ebuntu partition, if you don't need any data on this partition you can reformat it in windows. but if it contains precious data unfortunelly you will need to use partitioning(3d party) progs.
