I messed up my pc please help

    Ok on another board i took someones advice and downloaded cleanup .He said to delete the cookies which i did but for some reason wipe clean was checked which i didn't do needless to say my pc look has changed .Here is an example

    It still looks a bit odd look at all this white space i never had this before http://img372.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tech0sc.jpg

    Now i know some may say that looks normal but it didn't look like that before with that much white space not to mention it hurts my eyes cause i remember it was a blue.Anyway please help

    What's the operating system, XP I assume?

    Do you have the Windows CD? (Not a recovery or restore, but a proper Windows CD)

    I'm running xp and no i don't have the cd cause i bought this from a pc store a year ago with xp installed:rolleyes:

    It really limits your options if you don't have a Windows CD.

    Anyway, is it only the Control Panel window that's not displaying properly?

    Do you have a recovery CD?


    A quick thing that might help, see if THIS fixes anything.

    The store you bought your computer should have given you a windows xp install cd with your computer, Did You try system restore?

    I may not be catching the point anyway.... If all Occmike wishes to do is change the color of the window background then settings>display properties>apperance>change from there??

    Not that simple in XP.

    Sounds like there are some visual effects turned off.

    Right click my computer, go to properties, click advanced, and go to performance settings.

    Visual options are on the first tab.
